Dr. Knapp is a clinical neuropsychologist who specializes in adult and geriatric neuropsychology. She has worked in the mental health field for over 25 years.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from SUNY Oswego in Oswego, New York; a Master of Science degree in Applied Educational Psychology and a Certificate of Advance Graduate Study, School Psychology Specialization from Northeastern University in Boston, MA; and a Master of Arts degree and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University/The Arizona School of Professional Psychology in Phoenix, Arizona.
Dr. Knapp began her career working in the public school system as a state and nationally certified school psychologist. She specialized in clinical neuropsychology as part of her doctoral studies. She completed a 1 year clinical internship at Sparrow Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center, and Neuropsychological Services of Lansing in Lansing, Michigan. She then completed a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at Neuropsychology Consultants in McKinney, Texas. Her internship and fellowship included inpatient hospital training, as well as outpatient neuropsychological assessments.
Dr. Knapp has experience working with children through adults who have a wide range of needs including various neurological disorders, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, strokes, brain/head injuries, movement disorders, complex medical and neurological problems, emotional-behavioral disorders, ADHD, development delays, and learning problems. She specializes in comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations, as well as pre-surgical evaluations (e.g., deep brain stimulation, bariatric, spinal cord stimulator trials). She is a member of various professional organizations including the American Psychological Association Division 40 (Society for Clinical Neuropsychology) and the National Academy of Neuropsychology.
Dr. Knapp is originally from Central New York and moved to Arizona in 2000. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, as well as her pets.
