Amy L. Knapp, Psy.D.

Clinical Neuropsychologist,

Licensed Psychologist

Dr. Knapp is a clinical neuropsychologist who specializes in adult and geriatric neuropsychology.  She has worked in the mental health field for over 25 years.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from SUNY Oswego in Oswego, New York; a Master of Science degree in Applied Educational Psychology and a Certificate of Advance Graduate Study, School Psychology Specialization from Northeastern University in Boston, MA; and a Master of Arts degree and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University/The Arizona School of Professional Psychology in Phoenix, Arizona.

Dr. Knapp began her career working in the public school system as a state and nationally certified school psychologist. She specialized in clinical neuropsychology as part of her doctoral studies. She completed a 1 year clinical internship at Sparrow Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center, and Neuropsychological Services of Lansing in Lansing, Michigan. She then completed a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at Neuropsychology Consultants in McKinney, Texas. Her internship and fellowship included inpatient hospital training, as well as outpatient neuropsychological assessments.

Dr. Knapp has experience working with children through adults who have a wide range of needs including various neurological disorders, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, strokes, brain/head injuries, movement disorders, complex medical and neurological problems, emotional-behavioral disorders, ADHD, development delays, and learning problems.  She specializes in comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations, as well as pre-surgical evaluations (e.g., deep brain stimulation, bariatric, spinal cord stimulator trials).  She is a member of various professional organizations including the American Psychological Association Division 40 (Society for Clinical Neuropsychology) and the National Academy of Neuropsychology.

Dr. Knapp is originally from Central New York and moved to Arizona in 2000.  She enjoys spending time with friends and family, as well as her pets.

Marissa Mascorro, Psy.D., LPC

Licensed Psychologist,

Licensed Professional Counselor

Dr. Mascorro is a clinical psychologist with over 15 years of dedicated experience in the mental health field. She is passionate about helping individuals understand the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral factors that influence their daily lives. She specializes in presurgical and comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for conditions such as ADHD, traumatic brain injury, movement disorders, neurodegenerative disorders (e.g., dementias), stroke, and mood or anxiety-related cognitive issues.

Dr. Mascorro holds a doctorate in clinical psychology with a specialization in neuropsychology, as well as master’s degrees in clinical psychology and community counseling. She has trained and practiced in a variety of settings, including hospitals, inpatient psychiatric facilities, the Arizona State Hospital, the Department of Corrections, and a neurology practice.

Remaining active in the professional community, Dr. Mascorro is a member of APA Division 40, the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology, and the National Academy of Neuropsychology. Outside of work, she enjoys watching sports, staying active, and volunteering.

Doris Medrano

Office Manager

Doris has worked with Dr. Knapp professionally for 10+ years.  She has extensive experience working with multiple providers in the medical field.  She uses her experience to manage all functions of this office including scheduling, records management, HIPAA compliance, and insurance preauthorization.  Her role is to ensure that all aspects of your care run smoothly and efficiently.  In her off time, she enjoys spending time with her family and doing craft activities.

Rowena Villanueva

Rowena is a vital member of our team, serving as the primary contact for patients and their families. She assists with appointment scheduling, paperwork, and billing inquiries, ensuring each part of the administrative process runs smoothly and thoughtfully. Known for her professionalism and warm demeanor, she creates a positive experience for every patient. Before joining the practice, Rowena worked with adults who have special needs, which deepened her compassion and dedication to helping others. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her large family and staying active in her community.
